Close to 800 people gathered in Valhall at Skövde Culture Centre when the University of Skövde held this year’s graduation ceremony on 5 December. During the evening, students who had graduated in the past two academic years were honoured.

The formal graduation ceremony began with a procession.
“You will be an injection of energy. Your enthusiasm, passion and creativity will contribute to a society that is ecologically, socially and economically sustainable”, said the University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Anna Runnemalm in her speech to the students.
The graduation ceremony featured several ceremonial elements with music and speeches before each student received their personal diploma in front of the audience in the packed venue.
“Congratulations on all your hard work. No matter what mountains you are about to climb, you should know that you have the right tools to succeed, said the Student Union’s President Niklas Korshöj”, who was himself one of the students receiving a diploma.
This year’s Diversity Scholarship was awarded to Khatima Wichit for her degree project on how structural and cultural barriers affect career opportunities for individuals with different cultural backgrounds in Sweden. During the graduation ceremony, the Student Union at the University of Skövde also presented this year’s Golden Apples to five teachers whom the students especially wanted to recognise.

In front of a packed auditorium, the graduating students received their diplomas.
