Over 400 international students from all corners of the world. On Monday 25 August, they will begin their studies in Sweden’s Student City of the Year – Skövde.
During the introduction week, the international students will get to know the University and the city of Skövde.
For the autumn semester 2025, the University of Skövde has admitted 425 international students. On Monday 25 August, their studies will begin as they are welcomed to the University’s campus. The students come from all over the world, including South Korea, the United States, India and Spain.
– The international introduction is always special, but this year we are particularly proud to be able to say that the students have arrived in Sweden’s Student City of the Year, says Frida Lindgren, International Coordinator at the University, who is responsible for the international introduction.
As usual, the international students begin their introduction a week before the University’s regular semester start. This gives them extra time to get to know Sweden, Skaraborg, Skövde and the University before their studies commence.
Practical and social activities
At the welcome ceremony on 25 August, the international students will be greeted by the University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Internationalisation, Mikael Ejdebäck. During the day, the students will also have lunch with their buddies, be given a campus tour and have the chance to get to know each other.
The introduction week will continue with both practical and social activities. The international students will familiarise themselves with the University and their teachers. They will also have the opportunity to take part in a bus tour of Skövde and its surroundings and enjoy a Friday fika at the town hall. The aim of the entire introduction is to make the students feel at home and give them a great start to their studies in Sweden.
